In collaboration with the Firecracker Foundation “Fashion for the Fire” is an avant-garde fundraising fashion show. Our purpose is to inform, offer support, and raise proceeds to fight against sexual trauma in support of childhood survivors in our community. We will achieve this through fashion designs inspired by stories from sexual assault survivors, our keynote speaker Tashmica Torok, and a live auction of the fashion pieces. The fashion designs are inspired based off of firsthand accounts and implications of sexual trauma from survivors. The designs will be presented in correlation with the survivor’s story during the show. The presenting designers will include Michigan State University Apparel and Textile Design students. This event is to be held April 11th 2015 at The Runway in Downtown Lansing.
